Some people say you make time for anything that really matters to you.
By that logic, if you haven't written your book yet, you just don't care about it that much.
I call bs.
In more than a decade spent coaching authors, I've found almost everyone struggles to find time to write.
It's not because your book isn't a priority. (If only life were that simple.)
Instead, you struggle to find time to write your book because it's one of many priorities you're juggling right now.
It's one thing when you're a full-time writer. In that case, work time is writing time.
It's a totally different situation when you're working a full-time job, growing a business, raising kids, taking care of elderly relatives, and/or volunteering for causes you care about--all while trying to find time to work out, make a healthy meal, and have some quiet time.
For most people . . .
Making time to write your book is hard. Period.
If you're writing a book, you probably imagine sharing your message from bigger stages.
You might see yourself landing media spots and reaching thousands of people you'd never have connected with if you hadn't written your book.
Maybe you have a vision of doing all this while positioning yourself to earn more as the author-expert.
Or maybe you just want to get your story out there to help the people who need it.
All this is possible for you when you become an author.
But of course, you have to actually write the book first.
So many best-selling authors--people whose books you love--use writing retreats to write their books. You can too.
Take advantage of this one day to write pages and pages of your book.
Professional authors know that while writing consistently is great, taking a day to dive into writing your book can help you make tremendous progress and get momentum on your book.
How often do you turn off your phone, close the door, and spend the day working on your book? This is your chance to do that.
Overcome blocks and doubts with the support of your book coach.
I help people write the best books they can possibly write. That work is my passion and a huge part of my purpose. At our virtual writer's retreat, I'll be here to help you overcome your writer's block, get focused, and keep writing.
Write with the energy, focus, and shared commitment of the group.
Writing can be a solitary activity, but it doesn't have to be lonely. Co-working (or writing together) works because it creates an expectation of productivity. Focusing can actually be easier when the people around you have their heads down, writing away.
During our writing sessions, you'll control your environment. Mute yourself and play your favorite writing music or write in silence--whichever works best for you.
Then pop in to ask questions and get support when you need it.

Coach Candice really came through for me. She helped me get my ideas organized and gave me the accountability I needed to keep writing. I've since launched my speaking career, using my book. I can't wait to write my next book with her!

My Mission
I’m Candice L Davis, your book coach and the host of Nothing but the Words, the podcast.
Many years ago, I kicked off my writing career with a sad little whimper, friend.
I was timid with my book goals because I believed all the myths my mentors handed down to me. They told me there was no money to be made with books. They told me only a few “chosen” books could be successful in any way. And I believed them.
With so many doubts swirling in my head, I started writing several books, but I never got more than 75% of the way to finishing any of them. My hard drive became the place great book ideas went to die.
I treated writing like a hobby because I never fully believed it could be anything more than that.
But when I earned a five-figure payday from the first book I ever finished writing, I realized the idea that you can’t make money with books was a whole lie.
I also discovered all the other positive impacts a good book could have on readers and on the author.
So I decided to find a way to make a living doing what I love: writing great books and helping other authors do the same.
I spent the early years of my career working as an editor and ghostwriter. I wrote a lot of books and edited even more. And I coached other people to write their own books.
It took me a few years to develop my framework, but once I did, it was on.
I wrote books faster and better.
But as my coaching clientele grew, I had less and less time to write.
That's when I started planning my own writing retreats once, twice, or three times a year. Every few months, I escaped my real life, shut out the world, and took a day (or many) to write.
For years, I'd watched my mentors (bestselling and award-winning authors) use writing retreats to make huge leaps with their writing, and I decided to do the same.
It worked so well for me that I started advising my clients to do the same, and finally, I decided to make it easier by hosting the retreats myself.
Questions? We've got you covered.
YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW
All you need to make the most of this retreat is the book idea you're committed to writing. If you haven't started writing yet, I'll give you a starting place so you can lay a strong foundation before you jump into writing.
This is not a writing class. You'll have opportunities to get coached and ask questions, but the primary focus of the day will be writing so you can get that much closer to finishing your book.
Absolutely! Authors Ignited will work for you whether you’ve written many books already, are in the middle of your first book, or haven’t written a single word yet.
Writing every day is great! If you're already doing that, I encourage you to continue.
Whether you write every day or not, the purpose of the writing retreat is to help you do more writing than you normally could on a given day.
There's a magic that happens when you take a deep dive into your book. Not only do you get more momentum, but you also make connections you can't always make in shorter writing sessions and easily find solutions to get unstuck.
There are NO REFUNDS on ticket sales for the writing retreat. NO EXCEPTIONS. If, for any reason, you're unable to attend the retreat, you may transfer your ticket to another person by emailing Candice@CandiceLDavis.com by no later than September 9, 2022.
Yes, during our spotlight coaching sessions, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions, share where you've been stuck or need help, and get coached.
If you're willing to show up and do your part, your book coach will be there to help you overcome those blocks. Writer's block can always be overcome when you take the right action.
